played some more chained echoes and still really vibing with it. had to change the settings to make the overheat part of the overdrive bar smaller because i really wasn’t gelling with it; it consistently felt like to the game was punishing me for making smart tactical decisions. it’s been smooth sailing for me since then and i think the combat is pretty damn good.
my favourite so far is lenne because i have a soft spot for dragoons.
