i’ve been replaying owlcat’s pathfinder rpgs recently, and whilst they’re not perfect by any means they’ve been a nice escape during an otherwise super stressful time.
it’s been nice to play them post patch cycle, where half my play time isn’t just troubleshooting. kingmaker especially was the most broken game i have ever seen at launch. it feels novel to just play it without hitting progression bugs.
i think wrath is the better game by a pretty big margin. it has more style and ambition, which is what you’d expect from a second effort i suppose. it also just has a much much better cast - there are supporting npcs in wrath who i think are stronger characters than a lot of kingmaker’s core cast. there’s real meat on the bones of some the character stories in wrath.
I’m enjoying kingmaker though. maybe once the capital P plot starts to kick off it’ll stack up more favourably to the sequel. really excited to see what owlcat do with the 40k universe.
