I thought that maybe I would be able to slam out a review of Shin Kamen Rider after the early preview but it didn't turn out that way, and the second showing I'm gonna be at (I bought these tickets, then they announced the premiere, so I bought those tickets too) is tomorrow night, so maybe better to leave that one for after then. This would probably be the free minimum-spoilers-post pay spoiler-post route, so expect something like that.
Another thing that is bouncing around in my head with the release of Asuka in Guilty Gear and SF6 coming out any day now is a post about the topic of something fighting game players like to call "mental stack." In short, it's how much information players need to have actively on their mind in order to make good decisions and reactions.
SF6 fully snaps back on the fighting game simplification trend and offers a game system that challenges players by giving them a lot to concentrate on at once and solutions that are rarely one-size-fits-all. Likewise, the character of Asuka forces players to juggle an unprecedented amount of information in a game that's usually much more straightforward. Anyway, that's a sub-only post.
In the meantime, check out my newsletter if you haven't! This month, some truly odd movies based on popular anime/manga.
