Currently having that most hated of gaming experiences: grinding through an experience I don't really enjoy in order to get an unlock I really want. Like I'm playing a mobile game or something.
World Tour mode is a C-grade Yakuza-type action RPG where you go around Metro City doing errands. Unfortunately, I am about two thirds of the way through and neither the story nor the things I'm doing from moment to moment feel at all satisfying or fulfilling; at the end of each segment I mostly feel like the game's successfully wasted a little bit more of my time.
The strong point of this mode is mostly fan lore for the Street Fighter mega-nerd. There's a cartoonishly large statue of Mike Haggar in the middle of town, and you can ride the same subway featured in Final Fight. Honda has a chanko-nabe restaurant. Carlos from Final Fight 2 has his own sub-quest. You can even chat up your favorite character and gain their favor. (I'm on the Chun-Li track.)
The unlock I really want is an alternate costume, which you have to max a character's favor to unlock. They're just the OG Street Fighter II costumes, and would otherwise cost cash. Like I said, mobile game tactics.
