That jump HK is a really good normal!

Unique point of this character from the old KOFs is that he could randomly get a Critical Hit that would do a lot more damage. This has been carried further in the new game. He doesn't do much more damage, but if he lands a critical the game slows down a little bit to let you confirm the hit, and there's often some kind of alternate combo follow-up after the critical.

So you have to pay very active attention even while you're landing hits with this character, because you have (what feels like) a one-in-three chance to get a completely different combo extension than expected. An interesting gimmick and one that is going to make those opposed to random elements in FGs very mad when Shingo kills them off a critical hit combo.
