The bad news is I got bodied: 3rd and 4th. The good news is I was so far ahead in points that losing 50 points only bumped me down to second place in my league.
Nothing really happened this match for me: no hands came together, no points won. My one big deal-in came during a reach that I definitely should not have called. Feeling desperate in South 3 I called a reach on a 1m/4p double pair wait with one 1m already out. There were a lot of reasons to wait here, including an actual potentially valuable hand if I had drawn 5p. This point was quickly made moot as the other players shoved through my reach as though it didn't exist and quickly made tenpai; I wound up dealing into a mangan.
These are the matches where I think it's best to go through the logs. Even if the loss feels unavoidable, you can still find places where you really weren't playing your best. Identifying the dumb choices and removing them from your game plan is a big part of improving.
