i really do think if this show had a different art direction and was released in like 2021 it wouldn't have been ripped to shreds like it was. anime fans didnt deserve this
it is obviously like, not the best written series in the world but the dryness and critique of ultracapitalist culture would have actually fucking killed it in a post-ironic world of the 2020s. genuinely a show ahead of its time, but can never exist again....
