Realizing now I'm kind of forced to learn CTF2.5, or at least a new engine since my old GMS1.4 doesn't export to HTML anymore (even though I had all the exporters. Sucks, man) and my GMS2 updated, so now I'd have to shell out a monthly payment to export to HTML

It's annoying but I probably should have moved off GameMaker years ago anyway, and getting bought out by Opera was probably the push I needed. I miss the days when I could just buy something and own it

Mostly, just that I already have a copy laying around, and being someone who isn't super well-versed with programming, the sort of "non-programming" it has (for lack of a better way to phrase it) is super enticing. Unity sort of scared me off with its new "few per-install" plan, and Unreal just looks incredibly complicated in a way I'm not really looking for

Really, the kind of games I'm making are just small scale, simple Newgrounds sort of games which seems like, the kind of thing Clickteam was made for

Those all seem like excellent reasons! I wish you luck!

Also, even tho I've done a lot of programming I really appreciate tools that let you maximize game-per-effort spent (which often means less coding is better) ✔️
