Starting my 2024 Media Thread!
Just documenting the things I watch/the things I play, my thoughts on them, maybe a rating if I can be bothered into giving it one! No guarantees on the last part! Will be updated irregularly depending on my schedule! Year of big changes and all that
Warning: This contains spoilers for Batman: Arkham City and the DLC Harley Quinn's Revenge. If you want my general thoughts, it's fine. Not amazing or anything, just fine. If you want my more in-depth thoughts...
This one is....whew. It's a doozy. In more ways than one. The length made me have to take multiple sittings to get through it all. Some of it can get....pretty heavy towards the end, especially when talking about Jennette's novel and some of the things she went through. I enjoyed it over all, sort of uneven pacing aside
It'll be a long ass while before I'm in the mood to watch another hours long video essay, though
I think the Forbes review headline is the best way to describe this movie: It's agonizing in the best possible way. It's so fucking perfect. It's so uncomfortable but in every way a psychological thriller shoulder be. Just uh...maybe so realistic that I'll definitely need a minute before I watch it again
I didn't hate it. I didn't LOVE it, but I didn't hate it. I really love the musical numbers, I just wish the stuff connecting it was a bit stronger? It's frustrating because there is a LOT of Vivziepop's typical shortcomings in writing and character design, but when it's good...god DAMN it's really fucking good
Hooooly shit. Hoooly shit.
Genuinely did not expect to love it as much as I did. Musical numbers? Bangers. Characters? A lot more heartfelt than you might think. I love Charlie and Alastor a ton in particular, and the last episode left me hungry for Season 2 as soon as I can get it
