Because it's a goal of mine to get all the achievements in all the Sonic games on Steam, I've been playing through Lost World quite a bit...probably the most I have since 2013. One of my deepest shames is that this game is the reason I bought a Wii U
So much of this game continues to make absolutely no sense at all to me, and it's only gotten worse 11 years later
Even beyond the story and writing problems, of which I take umbrage with a great, great, great many things, there's no cohesion to this game at all. It feels like one of those fangames where everyone was spitballing ideas and trying to hack them together, regardless of if they actually fit or work together or not
