So...I closed out my night with an Egg Shuttle Run in Sonic Colors. Some discrepancies, however -
- I had the HD texture pack installed. Because god does this game look awful on a 1080p display without it
- I had the 60fps code enabled, just to get a smoother performance, but it also broke the game in two places, notably with a laser wisp section in tropical resort and the start to aquarium park
- I had the infinite boost code enabled, because I hate the boost wisp system
Overall....eh? I didn't...hate it? I didn't find myself totally aggravated like I did with Lost World but I really don't think it was anything...that spectacular. Each zone has 6 acts which sounds like a lot, but only 1 or 2 of them per zone are really worth playing and the rest are just bite-sized, chopped up fragments from other levels to stretch out playtime and it really shows and they all suck. Those auto-scrolling spring levels are tedium incarnate
I didn't bother with the story or cutscenes because I already know I hate it
Overall it's...14 years on and I still don't really care that much about the game. It's not outwardly offensive to my senses or anything, but it's just a shame that all my least favorite parts (2d sections, wisps, etc) are exactly what Sega carried forward in their games for the next decade and more
