One fond memory of mine is playing my dad's old Game Gear (my brother was a Genesis/Game Gear kid before moving to the Playstation, and my dad really only plays golf games once in a blue moon) and taking it out on a trip with Sonic 2. It was hard as balls and I beat the first zone exactly once, with the help of my brother. My sister was vaguely aware of Sonic, and my brother backed me up when I said I won and said "We beat the Robotniks!"
I really want a Game Gear again
I've been trying to repair one. The CPU and sound chip works; the display does not. :\
If you do get a replacement, make sure you get yours re-capped! Nearly all Game Gears manufactured in the 1990s don't work because all their caps have leaked.
I was planning to do so! Just uh...need to budget it to find someone who can do that for me. I'm not super savy with playing with that sort of thing
