A screenshot of Minecraft's world creation screen. The background is a darkened and blurred panorama of a Minecraft world.
In today's snapshot for Minecraft: Java Edition, the UI was overhauled, removing the dirt backdrop of every menu in the game. I personally don't mind this. I anticipate a lot of people are going to be against this change, but personally, I like it.

A screenshot of Minecraft's world selection screen. The background is a darkened, blurred panorama of a Minecraft world, with text on top of it being mildly hard to read.
My main worry is text readability. Minecraft has a high contrast resource pack that can be enabled, but I'm unsure if it makes this text easier to read (because I can't open Minecraft right now to check). [EDIT: the High Contrast texture pack does in fact make the background black! Here's a comparison I put together.] Though, there are cases where the text is intentionally given a background for improved visibility so this might just be a case of "they'll fix it next week."
A screenshot of the Minecraft credits. Behind the credits text is the starry texture of the end portal
My favourite part of this update to the UI is the change to the end poem, which now uses the fantastic starry look of the End Portal. It's important to remember that before this, the background image of this beautiful poem was a dirt texture.

This was sort of a nothing-burger of a post, but I wanted to share.

in reply to @chillin's post:

i can't believe mojang ruined minecraft's simplicity once again smh my head... if only there was a way to go back to the good old days when minecraft didn't have all of these newfangled features like hunger and wolves...

I recently found myself longing for the good old days when things were simpler, and I spent some time playing in Beta 1.7.3. I knew how many accessibility features Mojang had added over the years and how much I've come to rely on them, but losing them all at once was still more of a shock than I expected.

Loving the new end poem/credits background, really makes it feel more connected with what you just accomplished and that the End Poem is actually connected to the End instead of a bizarre screen you're immediately booted to. Feels more intentional idk
