I started Hollow Knight this evening. I’m going in as blind as possible and so far it’s fantastic! I’m pretty blown away with the atmosphere of the game.
I love the little characters you meet and the mapping system really intrigues me :) I played way too long! I got just past the first boss and into a second area I don’t have a map for… now it’s past my bedtime and I’ll no doubt have to get up at 5:30 with my insane children haha oh well probably worth it :D
Just wait until you come across the "Deepnest". I loved the atmosphere of Hollow Knight, but it takes a (temporary) turn around that point. You will remember it.
Keep in mind, though, that if you want a remotely satisfying ending, there's a LOT of very challenging endgame content to go through to get it. It's one of the game's few genuine issues IMO.
Hollow Knight consumed me for a long while. I got a fair amount of enjoyment out of my blind playthrough and my second guided one. There's just so much to discover.
I can imagine becoming consumed by it lol other games I’m playing might be pushed to the side for a bit.
