The correct answer is probably Etrian Odyssey 9 or something for clever JRPG players but for my money Kirby: Planet Robobot RIPS and is a total delight every second of play.

Neo: TWEWY is still pretty good in my opinion, i love it nearly as much as the first game.

But i gotta say, DS version is still the best way to play original TWEWY. Final Remix in second place (because of co-op, despite its flaws), and the worst in Solo Remix.

Neo was fun! The writing was good, the characters were great, and I would give it a personal B+, probably? But it just didn’t have that gameplay spark for me. The controls never quite became intuitive and the pins didn’t feel super collectible in the same way— but very possibly that’s because what I actually wanted was something that was either had way more new mechanics than TWEWY or to play TWEWY again but for the first time, which is not on Neo for not delivering.

That's fair. I also think that combat mechanics were the weakest part of it. At some point mashing buttons for pins did get old faster than drawing lassos with Neku and navigating top screen cards in DS version.

But on the other hand, i'm fine with them playing it safe with controls and not trying to do gimmicky mechanics. And beatdrop combos were a good replacement for puck passing, so there's that.

As for collecting stuff... I'd be fine with it, if not for Scramble-exclusive pins. That's the part that i definitely don't want to replay for 100% completion. Meanwhile, my first save in TWEWY DS was nearly complete, save for that one pin dropped by CAT boss on Ultimate.

Heh. Overall, hard to disagree with your B+, it's solid.

Check out Ace Attorney games. Some of them are still eshop exclusive and did not get physical releases on 3ds, so if you're against modding your 3ds (for any reason) and want to get it, the time for some of them is running out.

Also, Ghost Trick from (i think) the same creators. If that's your type.

Good for you <3 I'm stuck with snes-inspired one that lacks SD card slot, so i'll probably buy another one to mod.

I recommend checking out AntDude on YouTube. His 3ds and Switch games recommendations were mostly spot on for me.

If you like farm sims, Story of Seasons Trio of Towns was pretty fun. It was before they added gay romance, but it's still a solid game. Rune Factory 4 is also good if you want something a little more action oriented (it also has a pretty complex crafting/buffing system for late game)
