I'm so glad this will never enter the public domain. imagine if us grubby peasants got our pathetic low class hands on the work of the good Professor. what we need is exactly this. the kind of guidance that has worked so successfully with our system of landlords works exactly as well for idea landlords as well. stewardship, that's what we need. much like the steward of gondor, who had special foresight into market desires, these rights holders will properly steward the JRR Tolkien legacy for his hereditary inheritors.

I'm increasingly okay with the Tolkien estate not releasing any more movie rights. Rather than the doing Silmarillion they just have to milk the appendices into the dust and it's getting funnier and funnier the lengths they're taking to do that.
