Why are they always going to the archive.org archive of the taken-down github repository and downloading the latest release?

Why are they always checking out books from their local library or the internet archive library, downloading the acsm file, and then doing

cd Downloads
chmod +x ./knock-1.3.1-x86_64-linux
./knock-1.3.1-x86_64-linux   whatever_cool_book.acsm

and then immediately returning the eBook to the library so other library patrons can enjoy the eBook????

Why are the hottest girls even hypothetically then loading the DRM-stripped ePub into their Nintendo DS emulator with their favorite homebrew ePub reader because there are no good ePub readers on linux??????? ;-;

And then why are the nerdiest among them always downloading the archived source code and building it from source with nix???

I just really don't get women anymore

in reply to @artemis's post:

there's a process you can do with Adobe Digital Editions to get the pdf from the ascm file and then put it through calibre with some de-drm plugin

I can help u in more depth if you want :)

on melonDS you have to like give it a virtual SD card image its kinda janky. idk what the recommended way for the average person to do this is (it seems like it has some "folder sync" feature? no idea what that does). i did it the way i do with raspberry pi where i made a 4 gig file, mkfs.vfat'd it, losetup'd, it, mounted it, installed dslibris/my epubs on there, unmounted it, and then pointed melonDS at the file

Just so folks are aware, this tool does have issues with Google Books. I was able to remove the DRM from a single book, and after doing that knock is now receiving errors along the lines of E_GOOGLE_DEVICE_LIMIT_REACHED with other files. Obviously I am hesitant to ask Google to reset my device limit in order to de-DRM their files, so I'm going to look into other methods (if possible).

also you gotta strip the DRM from ebooks you buy or borrow if you wanna load them onto yr DS anyway (which i do). or really anything that cant run the DRM-capable readers. buy books and strip the DRM thats what I think (and encourage yr friends to buy 'em too!)
