For void screaming

Since I keep blabbering about pretty alien dude and nearly toothless human boyfriend:

They’re a small part of a much larger story. Pretty alien dude is named Kami (short for Kamillika but he never goes by that) and he initially starts out his existence as a dream god, his father being the moon god and mother the flower goddess on his home world. After some fuckery he has to leave that world with a bunch of the other gods and mortals but his parents don’t make it.

More fuckery later, Kami is almost killed by another god but manages to find a vessel: a ball jointed elf doll. It’s an okay vessel and he manages to be able to manipulate the size of it so he can appear humanoid sized but a lot of the time remains small and cute. About 20-25 years later during the time of the actual story his doll body is severely damaged in a fight and his essence starts to leak out. Before the body shatters he flees and hides in the woods, forming a cocoon around himself. This cocoon is found a few weeks later by a guy who lives in the woods alone.

Unfortunately because this guy doesn’t know what’s going on and Kami’s own limited knowledge about how to build a new body, Kami’s body formed in the cocoon is…not the best. But this is not fully realized until after the events of the story (in my idea for a sequel story he is chronically ill and disabled and uses mobility aids). What is realized almost right away is Kami’s new flesh and bone body can’t hold onto his god powers anymore so they remain in the barely holding together doll body until he can find an appropriate human vessel.

The guy that finds him in the woods is Rory. As a kid due to multiple reasons he ends up in the foster system and bounces from home to home for a number of years. The last home he is in (at 16) is very evangelical and not kind towards him because he’s indigenous and they are (to be blunt) palm coloured and racist af. They start to suspect that Rory is not straight and when he catches wind of their plan to “rectify” this he puts what he can in his backpack and flees. He initially wants to return to the reserve to see his grandparents but not wanting to cause them any added stress goes the other direction towards the city.

He spends the next few years on the street, his teeth suffering a lot (which is why he has half of them missing as an adult). One of the ways he gets some money is gathering cans and one of the places he does this is near where a condo is being built and he’s fascinated by everything going on so for months he will just stay there for a few hours and watch. Eventually a foreman there notices and approaches him, offers to get him something to eat. They end up talking and half joking the foreman says “you show up consistently more than half my guys, you should work for us”. Rory is understandably apprehensive at first but after a few weeks decides to take a chance and accepts.

This one opportunity turns his life around and over the course of the next few years he goes from sleeping on the streets to a room in a house he rents and eventually he finds and purchases a house for cheap in the woods that has had no occupants for a good decade and needs lots of work. All the while though he is quite lonely, his only real friend the foreman the gave him the opportunity to change his path. And he’s going through a serious bout of depression when he stumbles across that cocoon in the woods, and thus another life changing event occurs.

And that’s basically how they meet and the rest is history. Adorable, adorable history lol.

Note about Kami: as a god he was gender fluid and could even change his body to whatever he felt like at the time. So he’s had many variations in gender presentation and identity over his few thousand years of existence. For his final mortal body he opts for a very androgynous male form and doesn’t have a nailed down identity but is fine with people defaulting to male. As far as his sexuality goes he’s “you’re cute? Let’s suck face!” lol.

Yeah, that’s basically it for my current hyperfixation lol
