Hi folks! I made a list of... all the lists of free and low-cost game dev (and associated art and production) software I've been doing and commissioning lately at Game Developer. This is basically the page I'll be adding to each time I make a new one of these (and I'm actively looking for devs/artists and writers who might have strong tutorial pitches or toolsets they want to shout from the rooftops about!)

Overall, I want to make Game Developer a really strong resource for free and low-cost developer inspiration and practical advice and tools. I hope making pieces like this helps!

For whatever it's worth, as a developer of a free game making tool, having it mentioned in your article has driven a steady trickle of traffic to my itch page, which is a huge help in raising awareness. Decker is a strange, difficult-to-categorize piece of software, and it has been a real challenge to find ways of reaching users who would enjoy and benefit from it.

it's been so cool to see you come out with more of these helpful lists. and now there's a masterlist!

i've heard about a lot of these programs before but it's been through years of getting lucky to catch whatever thing people happen to be talking about at the time. a curated list is fantastic, and i'm sure it's already helping a lot of folks who haven't had the chance to findd these programs themselves. and of course, i've learned some new things too!
