When I'm telling a friend about something that me and another friend they don't know did, I'm trying to get better at using the person's name instead of just saying 'a friend'1. Even if the two people are never going to meet each other, I like the idea of building a mythos for and among my friends. Sort of like how we don't ever meet Bob Sacamano in Seinfeld2 but he gets developed through Kramer's various stories about him. I don't think this will make any real change in anyone's life but still I like the idea of it.

Still defaulting to 'a friend' online. Cohost isn't huge and I'm not wildly popular but it's still more of a 'public' place and people deserve their privacy.
