Another doomed Sega Saturn latecomer, Nanatsu Kaze no Shima Monogatari once again thrives in its creative splendor. The side-scrolling puzzle game has some of the most gorgeous illustrations on the platform, teetering between wholesome and bizarre, with only a touch of that CD-i feel. Sadly, the developer would also dissolve after this final release. Director Keita Amemiya, however, would pivot into creating the Garo TV series.
The creators were, rightfully, so sure of their craft that the game even came with a Premium CD for just the artwork, which is found in this Tumblr post.
An absolutely unique, special game. The artwork is something special, and the choice to include a high-res set of all their paintings and concept art on that CD is a really nice touch. It works on both a Saturn and a computer, with the art as just BMP files you can admire.
