here's my current Fields of Mistria report:

I think Valen is my favorite of the romanceables, but it's a close contest with Juniper who is also wonderful. Valen has a good gender vibe. Juniper has an ojousama laugh. both of these ladies ask you to drink strange potions. i think they would be good with each other is the main thing.

Friday nights at the inn are extremely good, I love to see the stories play out week by in-game week. I missed one once, which doesn't matter as it just picks up the next week without you missing anything, but I felt terrible about it anyways. I gotta know how those tabletop campaigns are going.

the sheer amount of writing and the way it's used remains the high point of the game. none of it is like.... mindblowing prose or anything, but it doesn't need to be - rather, it makes the world and the characters in it feel believable enough that i'm invested in what they're up to.

The way they handle Friday Nights and the Saturday markets is so good. Conveniently getting everyone in one place (i think you can even turn in quests to them) so you dont have to hunt them down, plus getting to see them interact with EACH OTHER.

Its so fun, i feel like a lot of other farm sims dont come up with good ways to show it as a real community

yeah it's great. I love that every time you need to fix something in town it's like you and a few other people - mechanically you're still doing all the work, but narratively it feels so much better than fixing everything by yourself and nobody caring.
