Anime

• Touhai Densetsu Akagi
  • After getting Very into mahjong, decided to watch Akagi. It's a shame it's not really finished, and I haven't read the manga yet, but what's here is very fun and good.
• Jellyfish Can't Swim in the Night
  • I mentioned this when it started, and it's finished now. It's..... complicated. There's some really good stuff in the middle of this show, but it just kind of completely drops the ball at the end in a huge way. At least Kiui is good, at least there's a kiss somewhere in there.
• Girls Band Cry
  • This has technically finished airing but I haven't yet finished watching it due to, fansubs. I think this might be the better girls band anime this season? It's 3D but does it well and looks incredible, the girls are intense and terrible (positive), there's a much bigger focus on actually making music, and the music is pretty good.

Games

• Dark Cloud
  • Started playing this on stream after not having played it since it came out forever ago. It's better than I remember, a sort of secret Mystery Dungeon game with a very fun game loop of exploring the dungeon and rebuilding towns, but also has some obnoxious combat.
• Atelier Sophie
  • Finally finished this after having started it up once a few years back. It's super cute, kind of strangely directionless in the way some Atelier games are, but with a strong sense of getting to know the characters you hang out with in the town you live in. Sophie and Plachta are extremely married and that's great.
• Atelier Firis
  • What a wild follow-up to Sophie! Just a completely different kind of game with completely different goals. I think as compared to Sophie I like the gameplay progression a lot more, but miss the attention paid to the party members - I feel like I don't really know half the people I've picked up. I'm still playing through this one.
• Touhou Eiyashou: Imperishable Night
  • This was my first Touhou, which I picked entirely for Wriggle Nightbug. I've managed to get a 1cc on easy mode, started working on normal. Neat game, I'm interested in trying out some of the other ones too.
• GG Aleste 1/2/3
  • Also part of my 'getting into shmups' arc, I started playing the GG Aleste games. The first one was incredibly easy, having a harder (but fair) time getting the 1cc on 2/3.
• Mahjong Soul
  • I don't have a lot good to say about Mahjong Soul itself. It's a gacha f2p game with extremely stingy rates when trying not to spend money on it. But, it's been a great way to get into mahjong, which I've been having a great time with.

Manga

• Virgins' Empire
  • A yuri manga with an excessive amount of fanservice, ludicrously high rate of panty shots, uncomfortable gaze, etc. But..... beyond and between that I think there's a lot here that is at turns incredibly sincere, ridiculously funny, and extremely compelling. When it wants to do romance it's touching, when it wants to do drama it's thrilling..... Not for everyone by a long shot but, there is juice there. The developing relationship between Mayoi and Kaoru in particular is food for me.
