  • Manga/Comics
    • Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou (deluxe vol 1)
      • The slow life of a robot who runs a cafe at the end of the world. Incredible stuff, it's beautiful, melancholy, very charming.
    • Bocchi the Rock (up to current ch)
      • Was a huge fan of the anime, so I gave the manga a shot. I still think the anime is the way to go here, but given it's probably going to be a long time before we get a season 2 this is the next best thing.
    • Shimeji Simulation (up to current ch)
      • Surreal vibes, mysterious in the mundane, yuri, good stuff. Does a lot of incredible visual stuff with the 4koma format.
    • The Pension Life Vampire (ongoing in MangaPlus)
      • Real cutesweet story of a former monster hunter and a vampire learning to get along. From the Futari Escape mangaka.
    • Shibatarian (ongoing in MangaPlus)
      • Holy shit that first chapter is a strong opening. Eerie horror about a weirdly forgettable guy.
    • The Two of Them Are Pretty Much Like This (vol 1-2)
      • Very nice lil yuri slice of life about a script writer and a voice actor
    • The Witch and the Beast (vol 1-10)
      • This is a pretty wild fantasy manga about a girl who loves to kill and sometimes kiss witches, and her very hot wizard boyfriend.
    • Our Wonderful Days
      • This is pure sugar fluff, it's cute but also kind of nothing.
    • Helck
      • Sorta comedy fantasy story about the strongest human hero deciding to join up with the demon empire. Very funny, also gets extremely real, it's good stuff. Excited for the anime later this year.
    • Confessions of a Shy Baker (vol 1)
      • Older gay guy bakes for his boyfriend, it's mostly nice and sweet but it is literally like half a cookbook.
    • Snow Fairy
      • Wholesome yaoi about a wildlife photographer visiting a small town, liked this even though it's a oneshot.
    • I'm In Love With The Villainess (vol 1-4)
      • Listen I generally don't like isekai.... but this is extremely fun. I deeply empathize with "let me date the villain" vibes (see my love of Chigusa from the Utena VN in last month's Big Media Post), so this has been a real treat.
    • Run Away With Me, Girl (vol 1-2)
      • Hooo boy, this is the kind of painful heartwrenching stuff that I absolutely love, an immediate fav.
    • Kaoru Hana wa Rin to Saku
      • Really saccharine feelgood romance about a "scary-looking" boy from a rough boys school and a star student from an all-girls school. Cute but kinda contrived and also tramples over some of its own implied queer subplots.
    • Shangri-la Frontier
      • An MMO style isekai about a kusoge gamer playing a big fantasy epic MMO and generally trying to break the game as much as possible. Not in my regular wheelhouse but I like this one a lot.
    • Fangs (vol 1)
      • Vampire yaoi, it's mostly pretty cute and fun but like so many yaoi stories it wants to jump straight to sex scenes.
    • Roll Over and Die: I Will Fight for an Ordinary Life with My Love and Cursed Sword! (vol 1-3)
      • A kinda litrpg-style fantasy yuri manga about a former hero using cursed equipment to build a life for herself. It's extremely dark and probably has some stuff not to be read into too much but overall fun.
  • Anime
    • Hell's Paradise
      • Or, how much gore can one wife guy spill.
    • Gundam: The Witch From Mercury (season 1 cour 2)
      • Second half of season 1 continues to be absolutely incredible as the stakes increase and we start to see more of the world. Maybe these giant robots loaded up with weapons are actually problematic?
    • Oshi no Ko
      • Incredible so far, I'm planning to go read the manga but having the music here adds so much. So far, a story broadly about how the entertainment industry is a grueling, political nightmare that destroys everyone involved.
    • Skip and Loafer
      • So far, an extremely good high school romcom, I love all these kids and want their big dreams to come true.
    • Insomniacs After School
      • This anime made me buy a camera. Also a very cute high school story.
    • Dead Mount Death Play
      • I don't know if this is gonna be for me in the long run, but so far I'm very interested in seeing where it goes. A sorta reverse isekai with a lot of skeletons.
  • Live Action
    • Game Changer
      • Picked up a Dropout sub a couple weeks ago, had a great time watching through all of Game Changer. Very funny comedy improv gameshow.
  • Games
    • Spare Parts (Episode 2)
      • Wow so much good stuff in this, the second episode really picks up and hits a lot of the themes hard. Extreme gender feels here.
    • Everspace 2
      • Sort of a space sim meets ARPG, I enjoyed it a bit but didn't feel a lot of draw to go back to it.
    • Wildfrost
      • Really incredibly designed and aesthetically appealing deckbuilder that I'm just fuckin awful at.
    • Cassette Beasts
      • Just started this one up, it's sort of a Pokemon-like but I think it makes a lot of interesting changes to the formula and feels like its own thing. Bonus points for being a Godot game.
    • Omega Strikers
      • Loosely a soccer MOBA, I started playing this entirely on the basis that the slime girl was cute and guess what? She is, and she kicks ass too. Uninstalled this after getting frustrated because I absolutely can't handle competitive games.
    • Mega Man Battle Network
      • Replaying MMBN1 as part of the collection, it's definitely one of the rougher ones (these dungeons are soooo long and annoying) but I still enjoy it.
