Back in 1996, Maxis released special editions of their Sim titles that came with little bonus "gifts" related to the game. SimCopter came with a pair of aviators. SimGolf came with golf balls. I managed to track those two down on eBay over the course of six years because they were, I guess, the most popular ones they released that year.

But... they also released special editions of SimTunes with a harmonica and SimPark with a nature watch. I've never seen these in the wild before. The only other special edition of SimTunes I'm aware of was donated to a museum by a former employee.

And yet here they are!!! These copies also come from a former Maxis employee, who donated them to VGHF. These are in incredible condition. As far as I'm concerned, I'm done collecting games, because nothing will ever top this.

I'm sharing these now because we're actually getting to use this copy of SimTunes for a project VGHF is working on! More later, but wowowow after so many years looking for this, I'm pumped that we get to share The Harmonica with the public.

@coldpie asked:

What's a memorable moment you had in a Maxis game?

My most memorable anti-moment is that every time I've tried to play SimTower, my tower died right around 3 stars, I think because I was so excited to use all the new toys that I burned through my money, overexpanded, and then got left with the SimTower version of a dead mall. I have never gotten past that point.
