Was my first day of work for two years yesterday, and though it was a very 'deep end' experience with a lot of pressure at very short notice, the difference that a very neurodivergent friendly work environment makes is huge.
My line manager is very open about his ADHD and need for visual information to grasp things, a few of the other staff were open about similar, and at the end of what was, admittedly, a very intense first day, I got told in no uncertain terms that no one should be expected to be perfect and they don't want to make people feel small for making mistakes. We're all just people with varying brainweirds doing our best.
