I am honestly very basic when it comes to teas. I've tried a lot of different blends but I like something all purpose - I'm also not very free or available time wise for more ritualised taking of teas (with a diffuser, a pot, full china sets, etc - much as I enjoy those aspects of taking tea), so:
Waking up: English Breakfast / Orange pekoe. I haven't... found too much of a difference between these two blends taste wise, as far as I can tell they're fairly similar, but I have noticed that English Breakfast is usually stronger and darker which is great for preparing me to get through a day. I take these with milk
Relaxing and or musing over creative work (I can't do one without doing the other): A lot of sweet and mild fruit teas are great, I have a raspberry tea at the moment which isn't quite 'white' but its close. Very delicate and simple with a hint of my favourite berry. I take this as it comes, no milk, no sugar, nothin'
"Fuck me what a day" Tea? "That was a hell of a thing" Tea? "Christ alive, stick the kettle on" Tea?
Strong, steeped for far too long, English Breakfast or Orange pekoe, a tiny splash of milk so it's the colour of mahogany wood, and maybe one sugar. Glad to say I don't have many of those types of cup these days.
These are all just my favourites, occasionally if I'm out and about and there's a place that does interesting different teas I haven't tried, I'll order something different, but I am a creature of habit and repetition so I have my favourites.
Least favourite, though?
Russian Caravan. It's.... an interesting blend. I can't deny I tried it because I was really curious but it is so overpoweringly smokey and strong my palette cannot handle it. I'm sure others enjoy it though.
