I'm a Vietnamese cis woman born and currently living in the U.S. You may know me from Sandwich, from Twitter or Mastodon (same username), or on Twitch as Sharkaeopteryx. I do not have a Discord or Bluesky account.

Ask me about language learning/teaching, cooking/eating food, late diagnosis ADHD, and volunteer small business mentoring. Or don't, I'm not the boss of you.

I think people deserve to be young, make mistakes, and grow without being held to standards they don't know about yet and are still learning. So, if you are under 22, please don't try to strike up a friendship or get involved in discussions on my posts.

i wrote a list of 9 humanitarian groups providing aid to Palestine you can donate to right now

I don't feel like I can add anything productive to the larger conversation, but I can at least get a call to action for Gaza on a Conde Nast site (more on that later). Palestinian-led groups on the ground are at the top.

As of this comment I believe that the Red Crescent Society website is down, at least in some areas including mine. I'll update here if it comes back online for me, but please visit the other groups in this post if you're able.

EDIT 10/20 3pm EST: PRCS site still appears almost entirely down across the globe. I hope this is because of a server overload which is not being prioritized, and not something worse
