I'm a Vietnamese cis woman born and currently living in the U.S. You may know me from Sandwich, from Twitter or Mastodon (same username), or on Twitch as Sharkaeopteryx. I do not have a Discord or Bluesky account.

Ask me about language learning/teaching, cooking/eating food, late diagnosis ADHD, and volunteer small business mentoring. Or don't, I'm not the boss of you.

I think people deserve to be young, make mistakes, and grow without being held to standards they don't know about yet and are still learning. So, if you are under 22, please don't try to strike up a friendship or get involved in discussions on my posts.

Please don't automatically assume I follow/know/co-sign someone just because I reposted something from them—sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. Also, if you think being removed as a follower when we're not mutuals is a cardinal sin, please do not follow me.

Hello from the Queer Computer Club in Toronto, Ontario!

a photo of the Queer Computer Club. There's some LED art on the walls and a couch with two shark plushies, and many tables and chairs

We’ve got a lot of updates to share, so let’s get right to it. Firstly, we’d like to announce…

QCC’S FIRST OPEN HOUSE!

Sunday, November 19th 12pm - 8pm
720 Spadina Avenue, Unit 403

Come visit us this Sunday for our first open house! Enjoy refreshments, free food, chat with new people, and hang out. Watch the reverse sunset reflecting off the glass facades of the University of Toronto campus. Charge your phone, eat a cup noodle, squeeze a blåhaj, the possibilities are endless.

Masks are required except for when eating or drinking. This might not be everyone’s choice, but we want to ensure that our space is as safe as possible, and that means balancing comfort with minimizing covid risk. We additionally have an air purifier to guarantee a minimum of 5 air changes per hour. You can visit our website to find out more about our COVID policy.

We will be accepting new members during this event, so if that interests you please review our membership page. If you want things to be even easier for us, please print and complete a membership form and bring it in.

queercomputerclub.ca is now live!

Our website is now live at queercomputerclub.ca. Read about our policies, our directors, our location, upcoming events, and more. See if you can find Quecey’s secret message…

We are accepting donations!

With the launch of our website and the upcoming open house, we will be accepting both monetary and in-kind donations. We accept donations through PayPal and Interac eTransfer—send your eTransfer money to directors@queercomputerclub.ca

Because we are a non-profit organization (NPO) and not a registered charity, we cannot issue tax receipts for donations or membership fees contributed.

We’ll also be interested in receiving local in-kind donations (i.e. physical things). We’re interested in the following:

  • A side-table.
  • A computer monitor.

Please contact us at directors@queercomputerclub.ca if you have something you want to give us.

Join our discord!

Our discord is now open for new people. Feel free to join! Here’s our discord invite link.

That's all for now! Thank you for following the Queer Computer Club!
