I'm a Vietnamese cis woman born and currently living in the U.S. You may know me from Sandwich, from Twitter or Mastodon (same username), or on Twitch as Sharkaeopteryx. I do not have a Discord or Bluesky account.

Ask me about language learning/teaching, cooking/eating food, late diagnosis ADHD, and volunteer small business mentoring. Or don't, I'm not the boss of you.

I think people deserve to be young, make mistakes, and grow without being held to standards they don't know about yet and are still learning. So, if you are under 22, please don't try to strike up a friendship or get involved in discussions on my posts.

Please don't automatically assume I follow/know/co-sign someone just because I reposted something from them—sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. Also, if you think being removed as a follower when we're not mutuals is a cardinal sin, please do not follow me.

I really wish all the new social media apps/sites that have recently popped up bc of twitter being stupid didn't force you to make an account just to see anything.

Like, if I could keep track of artists who've mostly moved to bluesky or threads or whatever easily that would be nice! Even if I end up never making an account there!

But i guess that's the problem, they want you to join their site and im like

It's so frustrating when all I want is updates and not have to worry about making an account or getting an invite or whatever.

I know it's not even remotely the point of what you're talking about (it's so fucking frustrating especially because the collective hasn't just Settled On A Site yet) but I do have a bsky code if you want one LMAO

I know posting on multiple sites and not having all your eggs in one basket and all that is good, especially after twitter's steady downfall, but it's just. so unfun to keep up with so many

tbh im not even a huge believer in like... making an account on everything. I guess unless it's your job to have your presence be Known its not really needed as a hobbyist. It just kind of sucks that the places that people do move to doesn't make it easy for people to be able to keep track of your work unless you have a dedicated site (which sadly, most people don't)

tbh i don't think there should ever be a collective site that people should all be on. I feel like thats a big part of why internet now sucks so bad. (tho idk, maybe that's too much of a boomer-ey take on my part. Ideally social media companies wouldn't be so greedy but sadly thats not the reality we live in. bah )

I just wish I could see stuff. Why does simply looking only involve having to sign up for a site
