You're missing the silliest steps. It doesn't begin with Monty Python deciding to make a nonsense sketch about canned meat; it begins with World War II devastating Britain so badly that most people have nothing to eat but this crappy canned meat, giving Monty Python something to riff on thirty years later.

like 400 years ago when people pulled new lingo from whatever theater play was popular at the time
Didn’t people in the early internet repeatedly clog up chats by posting Monty Python sketches in their entirety, with “Spam Breakfast” being a popular choice? I swear I heard that somewhere
