I keep trying to write something up about all of this but I honestly think that's the simplest thing to say.
There are lots of people on and off the Internet, often who are or at least claim to be queer or leftist whose entire mo is to piss in any pool where there's even the vague possibility of white people beginning to listen to, trusting, and protecting black people and other people of color.
Because they know that when that happens at a large scale, whiteness will fall apart.
And my choice of analogy is purposeful. Because white communities literally closed down public pools instead of letting them integrate when they would have been forced to. The game plan hasn't changed.
what happened was, I had had a post in the drafts that was a tiny bit nuanced and after traveling I opened Cohost to finish it up and boom, a weirdo had done weirdo shit. So not only did I not have energy to start another conversation, then I had to deal with the weirdo's defender/alt who reshared my post doing extra weirdo shit nobody asked for
