Between tumblr going thru.... that and twitter potentially partnering with some ai scraper thing*, I do hope people go.... literally anywhere else at this point.
*Idk how true this is, but when i looked at twitter today a lot of people were tweeting/qrting about it. Regardless, its probably better to prepare for if that actually goes thru or not.
Clip Studio is also planning on partnering with an ai company
which is really disappointing but not surprising with the trajectory of creative adjacent companies ( tablet makers too, ugh) pivoting to either partnering with ai companies or using ai artwork.
I really should start getting back into messing with Krita since the brush engine is very similar to clip studio + its open source and free (unless u wanna help the dev out, throw some $ their way)
edit: Clip studio cleared up the stuff about ai that they're using (they're not using generative ai but bettering the ai used for tools such as colorize and other illustrative tools)
I'd still look into learning other programs for drawing though, I don't fully trust the company they're partnering with.
Besides, it's never good to be overly reliant on one drawing program, I highly urge people to familiarize themselves with other programs just in case.
