This is a big part of why I didn't want to get back into Animal Crossing* and why I was so hesitant to get into Pokémon Unite (my first MOBA). Also it's probably one of the reasons I generally enjoy playing multiplayer games more when I just play by myself. I'm like this with TTRPGs too; not in the sense that I prefer single-player systems but more that I try to avoid tables where people act like that. A big way to suck the fun out of any game is to tell me how I "should" be playing it when I haven't asked!
*tangent: the main reason is that I find AC and similar games really stressful, I know they're cozy for a lot of people and I don't mind watching others play but if I get involved it eventually consumes me and makes me feel like shit
