Ours gave out free eclipse glasses and did a program today with a semi-local amateur astronomy club today who let people see the eclipse through their telescopes. I wore The Perfect Shirt for this and then got to show some people how to do the pinhole camera thing with your hands, which was fun and nice. I forgot it happens with tree leaves too, that was cool. There were families with excited kids and people who brought camp chairs and we had the NASA livecast on in our earbuds so whenever a totality hit we would watch it on YouTube while hearing the people there go wild in the background.
Huge difference from 2017 when it was basically a work social and my biggest memory from it was watching my now ex-coworker being super rude to someone who was trying to be friendly.
