At one place, after I decided to STOP doing extra they were like…omg what can we do for you to start doing it again……what if we had more meetings with you……and I was like, lol what, no, absolutely not. Literally would have preferred even the meaningless gesture of a pizza party over that hilariously clueless take on "what motivates high performers". Would have more preferred more money but I was beyond over them at that point anyway so there's no way they would have been able to pay the amount of money they would've needed to to get me to sign back on.
This is the same situation that, because I stayed late for my own reasons, asked me to stay late for a client for zero extra compensation, then when I said no they actually said "well, the client has other options and didn't request this, I just thought I would be nice and offer (you)" like EXCUSE ME who is "I" here???bc if you want to be nice then YOU fucking stay! anyway I made sure to leave early that day 😌
