I'm a Vietnamese cis woman born and currently living in the U.S. You may know me from Sandwich, from Twitter or Mastodon (same username), or on Twitch as Sharkaeopteryx. I do not have a Discord or Bluesky account.

Ask me about language learning/teaching, cooking/eating food, late diagnosis ADHD, and volunteer small business mentoring. Or don't, I'm not the boss of you.

I think people deserve to be young, make mistakes, and grow without being held to standards they don't know about yet and are still learning. So, if you are under 22, please don't try to strike up a friendship or get involved in discussions on my posts.

Please don't automatically assume I follow/know/co-sign someone just because I reposted something from them—sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. Also, if you think being removed as a follower when we're not mutuals is a cardinal sin, please do not follow me.

the IDF destroyed northern Gaza and told everyone to go to Rafah for "safety." now they claim Rafah is a "Hamas stronghold" and are telling people to "evacuate" from there. this is despite claiming they still care about negotiations and Hamas having agreed to at least one ceasefire proposal. Muwasi is miles away from Rafah, where Israel has been starving people and depriving them of aid to even make the journey (not that they waited before starting to bomb it).

Meanwhile, crackdowns on campus protests and truly evil takes in the news by people who don't give a fuck are rampant, not to mention the government just…completely missing the mark. It's hard not to feel ground down and helpless. But I think it's important to try to believe that even if we do something small, that it still matters somehow.

https://ceasefiretoday.com is a list with some actions (includes a few non-US options), I know there are others out there too, like the daily click at arab.org. sometimes the only thing you can do is prove you can still do things.
