I'm a Vietnamese cis woman born and currently living in the U.S. You may know me from Sandwich, from Twitter or Mastodon (same username), or on Twitch as Sharkaeopteryx. I do not have a Discord or Bluesky account.

Ask me about language learning/teaching, cooking/eating food, late diagnosis ADHD, and volunteer small business mentoring. Or don't, I'm not the boss of you.

I think people deserve to be young, make mistakes, and grow without being held to standards they don't know about yet and are still learning. So, if you are under 22, please don't try to strike up a friendship or get involved in discussions on my posts.

Please don't automatically assume I follow/know/co-sign someone just because I reposted something from them—sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. Also, if you think being removed as a follower when we're not mutuals is a cardinal sin, please do not follow me.

It's time to reminisce on 2023 games: the best, worst, and the ones that JUST WOULDN'T LEAVE...

Time 2023 Review where I make two tier lists: How much I liked playing, and how much I liked streaming, a game

Starting shortly! twitch.tv/ryyudo

Left is how much I enjoyed playing the game; Right is how much I enjoyed streaming the game.

Took about 4 hours, which is likely a PB for completing my year-in-review stream, and we added a new bottom tier! 😌Thanks everyone for the wonderful stream times in 2023!

The Connecting Gaza campaign supplies E-Sims to people on the ground in Gaza, allowing them to circumvent internet disruption/blackout during the siege and continue connecting with the wider internet.

A digital SIM card (called an e-SIMs) works the same as a physical SIM Card, providing data and SMS for a phone number. E-Sims are one of few resources that can be directly accessed without blockage by people on the ground in Gaza.

Artists from the cooperative will be offering art in exchange of the value of the donated e-SIMs. Click here to learn more.

I think the most important piece of advice I can give to artists is this: Get comfortable with losing progress.

@kobi-lacroix

This goes for work that you accidentally lose for one reason or another, but it also goes for work that you have to deliberately destroy because you made too many mistakes, or you misunderstood the assignment, or the idea you had is just not working out. It happens. A lot. You have to get used to it. Progress is not about gaining ground; it’s about regaining it faster each time you lose it.

To put it another way, the more chutes you slide down, the better you get at climbing ladders.
