if there's one thing i've learned it's that most cis people are cowards

as a kid i once wrote a story whose protagonist wore the name "Dawn." when my teacher asked about the story, i used he and him to describe said protagonist. in my head, he didn't even have a gender at all -- i just wasn't familiar with they/them pronouns at the time, being 6 years old. upon hearing this my teacher suggested i might rename him to "Don," as "Dawn" is traditionally a woman's name. i thought that was stupid, and continued to write it as Dawn.

most cis people are too afraid to step out of the lines that have been drawn around them.

this obviously doesn't apply to every cis person. hell, if you're reading this and you're cis there's a pretty good chance it doesn't apply to you. but i want you to really ask yourself where your boundaries lie and why. have you tried on a skirt before? have you ever gone bald? is there a place in your life for the things that "society" and "tradition" deem to be unfit for you? why? why not?

i just think things would be a lot nicer if people asked that more often, is all.

i personally think gendered names and colours are stupid and i don't know why i defended boy colours and girl colours as a kid but i ended up stopping pretty quick

as for trying female clothes i don't think its due to society and more due to me not personally having an interest in that it just doesn't seem like who i am as an individual and it doesn't mean i will never try but i doubt it.

skirts/dresses just seem uncomfortable to me and i just like pants so for me if it aint broke dont fix it

i guess i just conform with society and tradition but maybe that isn't necessarily bad either

be what you wanna be and do what you wanna do but as far as im concerned im more content with just being a textbook manly man
