I keep getting this tumblr ad that's this girl who I recognize as being some incredibly popular TikTok influencer named Miranda or something and what she's saying is "This is the game I play when I just want to get away from my thoughts it's called Monopoly it's based on the classic board game" and then I always scroll passed before it goes further but it drives me insane because this girl's aesthetic is that she is that girl who is like the queen bee popular girl perfect encapsulates everything a Gen Z girlie sets out to be rules the cafeteria/college dining hall oozes that nonchalant cool vibe in the exact way they love and I'm just imagining like being at her school I'm in the dining hall and like oh my gd it's Mandy or whatever her name is the most popular girl on campus and she waves me over to her table I'm so flustered and I try to act cool and I carry my try of grammable meats over to her table and sit totally nonchalant and I say "Oh hey Maggie or whatever watcha doing" and she looks at me and she gives the slightest of smiles she looks me in the eyes like I'm in on something only for the two of us and she says "Oh I'm just playing this game I like to play whenever I want to get away from my thoughts, you know? It's so cool. It's called Monopoly" and she shows me her latest iPhone Pro Max in some trendy case and she's playing fucking shitty CGI monopoly on her phone she's trying to roll doubles to get out of jail she's playing the boot "I always play the boot" she says and I say "That's so cool Nandos. You always know about the best obscure little things nobody has heard of. I'm so glad you share your discoveries with us. I'm going to download Monopoly to my latest iPhone right now. Thanks for the rec. You have so much Rizz." and then I open my phone and instead of downloading monopoly I take a picture of my lunchmeats to post on Instagram, making sure I get just a bit of Mandela Effect herself in frame so everyone can see or speculate that I'm eating at the same table as Moravia and then I quietly sit there eating my meats and we do not talk or look at each other at all for the rest of lunch.

meanwhile i am playing RTX monopoly on my incredibly overspecked jailbroken android running windows 11 with so many on screen buttons that i cant see whats happening on screen

every single intractable surface on the phone turns it on

im constantly pressing the off button after tapping the screen with my hands as im putting it in my pocket and the entire process of just turning the phone of is way more tedious than it needs to be.

i dont know what dumbass at apple thought this would be a good idea and this feature alone is what is responsible for iphone users ass dialing and why android users dont have that problem because when you turn the phone off it stays off untill you press the on button again. android phones figured this out so i dont know why apple phones have this ""feature"" which is actually just an issue more than anything

closing background apps

i dont know what you call that menu but its the app closing interface thing that you get by double pressing the home button to close all the crap running in the background

on an android phone theres a button to close all background apps in one foul sweep allowing you to run your next app as smooth as your phone can run it however with iphones you cant do that so you have to rapidly swipe up like a madman to get rid of all the crap on your phone and it doesnt really make sense how such a simple feature still doesnt exist on iphones to me

no headphone jacks

the only bluetooth headphones i have are nice premium over ears that i dont want to travel with in case they got lost or stolen and i dont really want to shop for bluetooth earbuds when i have perfectly fine wired earbuds already. thankfully i have an iphone 6 as my temporary phone but for the latest mobile users this really sucks

constant autocorrect

i disable autocorrect nearly instantly so this isnt much of an issue but for people who do use autocorrect this must be a nightmare.
why do iphones autocorrect a word to something wrong and then once you delete it and write the word you want again they correct it again.
androids never had this type of nerve and trusted you knew what you were on about.
i know no one is benefitted by this ""feature"" because no one would make a mistake several times like that!

planned obsolescence

on an android i can get whatever app i want no matter what app it is unless the app has a need to be constantly updated.

if i want youtube i can get anything from the youtube app in 2015 to now

sure this feature is sometimes present in iphones but is more of a rarity and it just pisses me off that i cant use garageband on my iphone6 just because it isnt the cream of the crop as i know that this phone could run an older version of the app and garageband is litterally the only reason i want an iphone but the more i use this the less it seems worth it

it took the EU cracking down on apple for them to finally use usb-c like every other mobile device nowadays and they still made the cable of their fast chargers usb-c to usb-c instead of usb-c to standard usb idk what its called but you know what im on about.
what was their goal here besides being a dick for no reason as per usual?
there are plenty of fast chargers with usb-c to standard usb so its definately possible and im pretty sure you can plug in an android device to a apple charger but maybe theres some bullshit that makes it so only iphones will work

really weird shit thats default for some reason

by default you have to login using your apple password every time you want to download an app? sure you can turn it off but this seems to create a problem where there isnt one. also why cant i charge my iphone using the usb port on my computer? my phone just straight up wont let me and i have to plug in my phone into an adapter plugged into the outlet.
it also asks me to log into my phone and then unplug and replug my charger in when i go to charge my phone unless im on critically low battery

all this shit makes no sense to me as an android user.

anyway thats my rant, maybe il find more shit that pisses me off later so stay tuned but thats it for now.

id like to hear from some apple users about this as maybe some of these things can be defended
