y'know I really didn't expect the degree to which "sitting" would be basically completely removed from my set of available actions after GRS and quite how limiting that is to my life and how many other actions are removed from my set of available actions when I'm only able to lay down, stand up, or dramatically and uncomfortably recline like a roman senator whose chaise lang has been lubricated with olive oil (only the finest).

And supposedly... the ability to sit upright comfortably is one of the last things to come back post surgery... ooof...

in reply to @shel's post:

very different cause but i had a bad hip-area hyperextension injury that meant i couldn't sit without horrific pain for a few months & the number of situations i'd get into & realise belatedly "oh this is one where you .... sit" was so so so much higher than i would have expected before i was dealing with that so i hugely sympathise lmao. i went to a bonfire & everyone was sitting in lawn chairs & i just like alternated kneeling on a pillow & laying my whole body on the wet grass looking absolutely bonkers

Every time Jess comes into my room like "hey it's time for your meds" I'm like cool how do I... drink the water.. to swallow these...

and eating????? oh it's complicated...

Had to get someone to return a book I borrowed from the library to read during recovery because it was Too Heavy to read laying down

videos games???? certainly not console games!! good thing I have a switch.

I've taken to watching stuff on my iPad on my chest instead of on my television because it's just easier to... to comfortably SEE this way... because I can only lay on my back
