if I wasn't at 30% brain capacity due to surgery recovery I could write a whole essay about cults and how common they actually are. But I can't do that right now. So instead maybe read Cultish and pay extra close attention to the Jonestown chapter about the full-blown cults; and then when you finish the book, think about how many things along the cult spectrum there are and how often the cult dynamics exist to cover up sexual assault and child abuse.
