when considering [gestures broadly] all of this, and the discourse the past few days, it's still important to remember that cohost is run by four people, and they have to handle the entire moderation load, do policymaking, keep the site running, work on developing it, run ASSC as a business, and everything else. they have to try to balance a hundred different issues, many of which different people on here regard as the single most important thing, and many of which involve people getting hurt in one way or another.

they are human beings with human capability and big workloads. they aren't a big corporation like we have all been used to. they aren't a huge open source dev team. it's just four people. sometimes they make mistakes (and they've owned up to this in the past), sometimes they have workloads too high to immediately get to things you or I consider critically important, sometimes they are sick and can't work, or have to deal with something outside of work.

they might be in charge of, and responsible for, this place but they deserve as much respect and considerate thought and action as anyone else.

in reply to @atomicthumbs's post:

I'm not involved enough in the events of the past while to have any stake in them (I've mostly experienced it through your reblogs, and through my initial reblogging and takeback of the post that caused the inciting harm)

but it's left me with a weird feeling I can't put to words, i guess.
I appreciate the wisdom and thoughts you've shared in tryin' to approach it and speak to it
