"gas is much cleaner because the flame eats up any spill" i used an electric in my last home and gas in this one and it is news to me
I don't know why I never thought about the origins of the idiom "cooking with gas," but sure enough, some gas exec slipped it into popular entertainment in the 30s
I had thought it was like, a riff on "now you're cooking" that took off for... reasons, I don't know
i've used both a gas stove and an electric stove and they're both fine. they're both stoves! my point is that since they're bad for you and for the planet then maybe we shouldn't use the bad stoves and instead use the good stoves when they're just both stoves idk
I did appreciate having a gas stove and gas hot water during hurricane season, though. Nothing like a shower and a meal when the power's been out for a week.
