So far Yumi & the Nightmare Painter is like if Brandon Sanderson wrote a @zandravandra novel and the combination is as buck wild as you’d expect. This dude had a body swap with a girl episode where he’s a girl on both sides.

Anyway Design is a trans woman. I’m claiming her. She’s so right being a woman is great except for the sexism. Design named first trans woman who is not AMAB.

A lot of the book doesn’t make sense if you haven’t read Stormlight Archive since it’s narrated by a character from Stormlight Archive to an audience who is presumed to live in that world. The narrator will be like “He looked Vaden” and if you don’t know what that means you just kinda have to go “okay sure whatever”

But yeah the premise is like… 19 year old boy wakes up in another world dressed as a girl and living her life and everyone sees him as this girl and her spirit has to guide him through living her life… and every time he goes to sleep they switch to being back on his world with him as the spirit guiding the girl through living in his world…. Except when it’s in his world everyone also perceives her as a girl. And there’s a scene where a magical spirit explains that “it’s still your body, but she’s just so magical that when she inhabited it she magically changed it into a girl’s body” and it “maybe will probably go back when you get your own body back, maybe” and then a lot of reassurances that “becoming a woman is great you’ll like it”
