tonight i told a cis male friend that he "could have T-boy swag" as a joke1 and watched him have an existential crisis trying to parse how he should take that.

It should be taken as a compliment, to be clear. Yesterday someone "complimented" me by saying they thought I "looked AFAB" and I just think maybe possibly in earnest we should just normalize saying things to cis people like "OMG You look so good today!!! You kinda look like a trans woman!!" and that sort of thing.
