why was this how i found out theyre trying to put neural networks in fucking windshield wipers? what a hell?? why would you do that??? why wouldn't you just... Push The Lever
there's some that are rain detecting, but even then, I don't see the neural AI whatever needed in attaching a moisture sensor to an on/off switch
see this exactly. if you're going to make them fancy you don't fucking need AI to detect rain
so, i have the deep shame and regret of having purchased a tesla years ago. they don't have a physical button to turn on the windshield wipers. so it's easiest to set them in auto, but ofc the ai is also really bad and so they randomly turn on and off when they hallucinate rain (or fail to see actual precipitation). you can also try to set them using voice commands, in which case have fun clearly enunciating voice commands while shouting over a thunderstorm
the ux and engineering quality is atrocious
i am so sorry. it sounds so miserable from what i've seen.
... is it true that manually opening the doors from the inside in the case of no power is needlessly complicated and obscure to do
manually opening the doors is a lever; it's not hard to do or access, if you know it's there.
naturally, it isn't very obvious and most people take a few minutes to find it, which could be deadly in an emergency situation.
they are, however, somehow still more discoverable than the actual "normal operation" button to open the doors with power. which would be fine, except if passengers use the manual release unnecessarily it's not great because it can damage the windows.
it's absurd
The more I hear about what cars are like now, the more I want to find a beater from 1975 and hoard it
Controlling the wipers with an expert system (the driver; they're the expert)
This seems similar to something I sent you on discord and you didn't respond to. Hmmm? XD
