Doc Martens fucking suck ass I mean they look cool and all but for the price they fall apart really easily and as shoes they are terrible for you just no arch support no heel support just flimsy flat nothing. It's embarrassing how much of walking being painful for me was actually connected to wearing Doc Martens instead of good supportive orthopedic sneakers. It's also embarrassing how every year or two I'll be like "wow my health is so much better it's like I'm not even disabled :)" until my sneakers wear down and suddenly I lose the ability to walk without assistance until I can buy new sneakers. Legit the main times I use a cane these days is the times between my sneakers needing to be replaced and when I can replace them. Walking into a running store with a cane and leaving not needing it. It feels so goofy.

But like, my physical therapist told me that everything kinda begins with your feet. If you align and support your feet and ankles properly it really has a ripple effect on the entire body.

Orthopedic insoles are a thing. I use Superfeet insoles with good orthopedic sneakers. It's also possible to maybe get an accommodation if you can get a doctor to write a note

Reminds me. I probably should switch out my work shoes. I have nice standing New Balances, but the fabric on the insoles is mostly gone and the leather split by my big toe.

Probably time to retire them. :/
