So in Nichijou there's a character named Hakase and in every English translation they always call her Hakase and not "professor" which is what Hakase means. Whether it's dubs or subs.

It makes me wonder if in Japanese translations of Doctor Who if they translate his name as Dokataa or if everyone calls him Sensei. You could translate all the "oh yeah? Doctor who exactly" jokes as "Eh? Dare-sensei?" and it would work. But if Nichijou has people calling her Hakase instead of Professor, maybe Rozu and Maata just call him Dokataa
