some people on here have been complaining for a while about a supposed problem the site has—that when the people they follow share the same post, they have to see that post more than once. and, to add insult to injury, it means they have to scroll faster. can you believe that?! anyway, some people are very upset about it. so upset that they'll make a whiny post about the issue. ironically, these posts are basically identical to each other

more people should learn that it's okay and fine and valid and nobody will come knock on their door if they just silence a post they're tired of seeing N times. I do that shit all the time, it's fine, nobody will sue you.

I pretty much silence any post I see twice unless I love it. I silence my own posts often. I unfollow and mute people who annoy me at all or who type in ways I can't read. Nobody even knows I've done it. It's easy peasy

in reply to @nicky's post:

i do find it annoying but understanding that it's not a real problem and the limited resources the team has, i fully understand why they have not tackled this frankly incredibly complex issue

you know what we need to deal with this? a "recommended" sort for the feed. maybe even make it the default. maybe even phase out the chronological feed. also toss in sponsored posts. and don't forget to amplify the posts that are more likely to be ragebait
